    Hi,

    I'm having a similar problem like the one mentioned above. All of the kali tools are placed in an "other" category. Is it possible to reconstruct the kali linux menu??

    Thanks.

    I've tried the following commands

    rm -r .local/share/applications
    rm -r .config/menus
    reboot

    It doesn't seem to work on Mate.... All of the Kali tools are still in placed in "other" menu list. Any suggestions ???

    Here's what I did to bring the Kali menu into MATE:

    nano /etc/xdg/menus/mate-applications.menu

    - Look for the section of text <!-- End Internet -->
    - On a new line add the following:

    <!-- Kali Linux -->
    <MergeFile type="path">applications-merged/kali-applications.menu</MergeFile>

    Now save the file, log out and then log back in. You will now have the FULL Kali menu in MATE.
