I'm running OpenVAS in Kali and get the following error when attempting to create a credential. I tried installing the Ruby gem GPGME but that failed as well. Anyone know how to resolve this?

    base gpgme:MESSAGE:2013-12-10 12h21.26 UTC:11775: Setting GnuPG homedir to '/etc/openvas/gnupg'
    base gpgme:MESSAGE:2013-12-10 12h21.26 UTC:11775: Using OpenPGP engine version '1.4.12'

Use Lazykali script to start openVas service it will
This script synchronizes an NVT collection with the 'OpenVAS NVT Feed'
and etc... hope it work for you :)

That really is neat but doesn't address the issue I raised at all.

Mine is working fine. Also, I tried it on other machines on diferent versions of Kali, and I got an error, not the same as you did tho', but, ruby-gem related.. A system upgrade might solve this issue. This is not the only application on Kali that has this kind of known bugs. SQLMAP, WPSCAN and JOOMSCAN. All of them fixed with a simple purge and install. However, I've researched a couple days on the subject, and didn't come up with any good explanation to give you bro..

Sorry on that. But you can fix it also without 3rd party apps. ;)

BTW: LazyKali is a good script made by a friend of mine. It's pretty cool ;)

    To fix this error simply
    Code:
    mkdir /etc/openvas/gnupg
Other common errors for this is, OpenVAS Greenbone "Create Credential" 500 internal server error.
