login screen

    Hi there!

    Is it possible to change the login screen for Kali linux, and if yes how can i do that ?

    yes it is. go to /usr/share/images/desktop-base

    you will find a .png pic named login-background.png

    delete it and replace it with the one you want to use, renaiming it as login-backround.png

    if the pic you want is not .png, use gimp to transform it.

    this will definately work for you. just copy n paste

    ##first we need to backup the original .pngs
    cd /usr/share/images/desktop-base/
    mv login-background.png login-background.png.bak

    ##next, if the image u want isnt a .png, we need to convert the image to a .png
    convert /filepath/image.jpeg ./login-background.png

    and bam!!! your done. now u can do the same stuff for all the other pics u wanna change up.
    just remember to backup your pic first, then convert, then name the new picture EXACTLY as what you're replacing.

    Aren't you guys forgetting something here ? There is a file which need to be edited, you don't need to change nor backup any of your original stuff. You don't need to change the files names either. ;)
