You can study this article which explains the issues very well, also now you can compile the latest version of Linux kernel 3.8 released and announced yesterday by Linus Torvalds , which is available here :)

    Hii..

If you want to compile the linux kernel. there are many ways to do it.. the hard way and the soft way.. However, in the hard way you will have to understand the modules on how it works so that you can deactivate some modules which you won't need for you machine. Here is an link which i have published on my website about kernel compilation - the soft way.. Do let me a message to clear up any ambiguities --> http://www.darkxploit.us/?p=337
